Lux’s heart throbbed as he finished the letter. He shoved it into his pocket before turning around. He watched as, suddenly, all the men and women at their dining tables stared at him motionlessly. None of them blinked as they watched Lux and each movement he made.

Lux slowly moved away from the counter, before bolting for the exit. As soon as he made his breakaway, he had to duck for cover to dodge a knife tossed directly towards his head. The workers at the restaurant all pulled out weapons: knives, guns, whips, and darted towards Lux to try to kill him.

“Shit!” Lux screamed. He grabbed his batons and started fending for himself. He unleashed a flurry of precisely placed kicks to knock out the weapons of the people attacking him, before hitting them with his baton to knock them out if they got too close. The onslaught didn’t stop though, they were relentlessly attacking him like that was their only purpose in life. Lux was soon overwhelmed by men and women on either side of him, his superior skill only able to defend him so much against sheer numbers.

Lux felt a knife get shoved directly into his lower hip, causing him to scream out in pain. That was the only noise that could be heard in the restaurant other than the clanking of weapons. Lux continued to fight through his pain, desperately trying to ward off the attackers as blood trickled out of his body. He felt a whip lock across his ankle, pulling him straight down to his knees. On his way down, he felt a slash of a knife come right across his chest, causing him to bleed even more. Lux screamed as he crashed down onto his knees, Edith’s gang members getting ready to finish playing with their food.

Lux grimaced, panting deeply in pain as he tried to calm himself. A patron of the restaurant attacked Felix by stabbing at him with their knife, but through sheer strength of will Lux rolled out of the way. He punched a man in a leather devil outfit in the stomach, causing him to keel over, before grabbing his body and throwing him into the group of people that were formerly surrounding him. He quickly scanned the area. He’d only taken out about a third of the group before they got him to be so helpless. He wondered if this is how Felix felt back when he beat him.

“I guess it can’t be helped,” Lux muttered to himself. As the rest of Edith’s gang returned to darting towards Lux, he quickly brought out both his batons and pressed a slight orange-colored button on the bottom of both of them. Instantly, an electric orange shockwave emitted from them, bursting throughout the entire restaurant and electrifying everyone inside of it. Lux watched as each member that was formerly attacking him collapsed onto the floor, crackling with an orange energy as their now-unconscious bodies emitted a bit of smoke from their outfits.

Lux sighed in relief, panting heavily as he grabbed at his wounds.
